Univ undergrads’ book sale
Univ undergrads Andrea Jansson (2010, History & Politics) and Nadia Odunayo (2010, PPE), founders of The StoryGraph, hosted a charity book sale on Saturday to raise funds for Book Aid International and Oxford Hub.
Visitors to the event sampled stories and art from The StoryGraph website and listened to a talk by Matthew Jones, senior writer for BBC Top Gear Online.
£220 was raised, with the proceeds going to Book Aid International and Oxford Hub.
Book Aid International supports literacy, education and development in sub-Saharan Africa – and last year provided over 500 thousand new books to over 2,000 libraries.
Oxford Hub is the focal point for charitable activity in Oxford. They are the go-to place for students interested in social and environmental issues. Oxford Hub support student-run community volunteering, help students find careers in the third sector, provide training to increase impact, and run conferences and speaker series.
The book sale was organised as part of a wider project by Nadia and Andrea – an online quarterly publication called The StoryGraph which features new, innovative and exciting short stories written by university students across the country. The StoryGraph aims to become recognised as a valuable platform of communication between talented student writers and publishing industry professionals.
