UCBC’s Oxford to London Row for Gloucester
This September, members of University College Boat Club will take on an epic challenge: rowing from Oxford to London over three days from 19 till 21 September – a journey of over 120 miles along the Thames.
It’s not just a test of endurance, teamwork, and blister prevention – it’s a chance for us to connect UCBC’s present to its proud past. Crews will navigate locks, changing river conditions, and aching muscles, all in the spirit of the grit and camaraderie that define our club.
We’re doing this to raise vital funds for our training camp in Gloucester – an opportunity that will let our crews train intensively, sharpen racing technique, and bond as a squad before the start of the academic year. The camp is a cornerstone of our preparations, but it comes at a cost. Without additional support, some of our members simply won’t be able to afford to attend.
We’re calling on UCBC’s old members – who know exactly what it feels like to dig deep in the last stretch of a long outing – to help us make this camp a reality. Your donation will directly support the next generation of UCBC rowers, ensuring they can train, race, and carry forward the club’s legacy.
Every stroke we take from Oxford to London will be for the club we love – and for the people who built it. Join us in pulling together for Gloucester. Please donate and help us keep UCBC’s spirit strong!
