Shermar Pryce elected to Oxford SU role

Shermar Pryce (2021, PPE) has been elected as one of four sabbatical officers at Oxford Student Union. Shermar will be President for Communities and Common Rooms for the 2025/26 academic year.

He secured his victory in the Hilary Term elections with 712 votes. The full-time sabbatical role also includes a position on the SU’s board of trustees.

Throughout his time at Oxford, Shermar has held numerous leadership positions, including President of the Univ JCR and President of Oxford’s PPE Society. His successful election campaign pledged to alleviate the impact of college disparities on the student experience and to provide robust support for JCRs and MCRs.

On his election, Shermar commented, “Serving as Univ JCR President was the most rewarding part of my time at Oxford. It showed me how fostering, supporting, and harnessing community can bring about impactful, material change, and I am very excited to apply the lessons I learned at Univ to the wider university.”
