Köbis and Abdaal on Forbes list
University College alumni Lukas Köbis (2013, MMaths, MCompSci) and Taimur Abdaal (2013, MMaths) have been named to Forbes’ prestigious 30 Under 30 list in the “Big Money” category, recognising their achievements as Cofounders of Causal, a software startup aimed at transforming financial planning.
Causal seeks to modernise financial management by replacing traditional spreadsheet tools with a collaborative and intuitive platform. Users can manage tasks like cash flow, revenue projections, and budgeting with ease, creating an efficient alternative to conventional software such as Excel. Causal’s user-friendly interface allows multiple users to collaborate in real time, adapting seamlessly for both individual and enterprise use.
Since its inception, Causal has gained significant traction, securing $25 million in funding from major investors, including Accel and Coatue. The platform is currently used by a range of companies, including notable names like Phillips, MoonPay, and Framer. Causal offers flexible pricing, providing a free option for individual users and custom quotes for larger businesses.
Causal was recently acquired by Lucanet financial software company.
