International trade negotiations
Dr Emily Jones, Supernumerary Fellow in Public Policy and Associate Professor in Public Policy (Global Economic Governance), has been running training programmes for UK civil servants on trade negotiations. She is also a member of two government advisory committees on international trade and has appeared in the UK media, including BBC Radio 4, the Financial Times, and The Guardian.
Dr Jones directs the Global Economic Governance Programme, which is a research programme co-hosted by the Blavatnik School of Government and the College, fostering research and debate on how to make the global economy sustainable and inclusive. It links academics in Oxford and across the world with practitioners to find solutions to the most pressing needs of citizens and the environment.
She recently edited The Political Economy of Bank Regulation in Developing Countries: Risk and Reputation (Oxford University Press, 2020) and has written several articles, including “Will this time really be different? Twenty years of trying (and failing) to reset Europe-Africa relations”, Global Policy Journal (2020).
