Festus Mogae portrait unveiled
A new portrait of Univ Old Member and Honorary Fellow Festus Mogae (1965, PPE), former President of Botswana, has been unveiled in the College Hall.
Festus Mogae was awarded the Grand Croix of the Légion d’honneur in 2008 for his “exemplary leadership” in making Botswana a “model” of democracy and good governance. He currently serves as Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Climate Change. He is also a trustee of The Rhodes Trust. In 2010, he joined the advisory board of U.S. nonprofit TeachAIDS. The painting is by artist David Cobley.
