Ancient Philosophy Society
Travel Grant Report – Katharine O’Reilly
I’m now back from Atlanta, GA, where I attended the Ancient Philosophy Society annual conference at Emory University, part-funded by the Fund. The conference has been a valuable opportunity to meet with around 90 other researchers in my field, to hear their papers, and to give a paper myself. A prepared response to my paper was given by Prof Tim O’Keefe from Georgia State University, an expert in my area whose feedback is invaluable to my work. All of this, plus the Q&A and the more informal conversations I had after the session, has provided extremely valuable feedback which will directly impact the shape of my paper. This has also been a valuable networking experience, as I rarely have an opportunity to meet scholars in my field from North America en masse. Thank you for supporting this opportunity.
