Chapel refurbishment completed
The Univ Chapel renovation project has been completed, thanks to the tremendous efforts of Univ’s Works Department, headed by College Surveyor Richard Pye.
The £250,000+ project included the removal and salvage of roof tiles, renewal of lead lining to box guttering, saddles, flashings and soakers, and new and salvaged roof tiles were relaid after improvements to the roof insulation. There were also repairs to the marble flooring, dressed stone walling and the screen separating the Chapel from the Antechapel, painting of interior walls and gold leaf application, the Chapel lighting has been upgraded and a new fire alarm system has been installed!
