On Thursday, 30 May, Old Members and their guests attended alumni drinks with the Master, Baroness Valerie Amos LG CH PC in the bar at the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel, College Green, Bristol.

Rowan Munson (2017, PPE) has written the following:

“A welcoming atmosphere filled the bar of the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel as Univites and their friends gathered to celebrate 775 years of the college. Alumni from as far back as the 1950s to my own matriculation in 2017, and from a wide range of academic disciplines, came together to share their memories and updates. It was fascinating to hear how things had changed at the College over the years as we reminisced about societies, formals, and bops.

“It was inspiring to learn about the diverse paths our fellow alumni have taken, from pioneering scientific and engineering projects to careers in mathematics and finance, academia, and social impact. Many also shared exciting travel plans, whether it was a recent adventure to a far-flung destination or a move to a new country. This event reminded me that while much has changed over the past 75 years – and undoubtedly even more over the last 775 years – I hope that Univ’s identity as a welcoming, nurturing, and progressive college continues as we approach its next millennium.”
