College News
• The College is delighted to announce that the HLA Hart Visiting Fellowship in Law has been endowed in perpetuity, thanks to a transformative gift from the Rt Hon. Lord Mance, (1961, Law). We are grateful to him for this generous contribution to the life of the College, and in recognition of this will rename the Fellowship the HLA Hart-JH Mance Visiting Fellowship in Philosophy, Law and Politics. • Sam Reynolds (2021, History) was part of the men’s Varsity rugby team last Sunday when the Oxford Blues took on Cambridge at StoneX Stadium. Read more…

• Professor Tamsin Mather, Univ Supernumerary Fellow in Earth Sciences, presented the first of our 775 Univ Online Talks on 11 March: “Icelandic volcanism: grounded flights, fissures and fires – past crises and the possible start of a new magmatic saga on the Reykjanes Peninsula”. Read more…

• Congratulations to Jim Ronaldson, Univ’s boatman, who completed a row across the Atlantic Ocean in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge (a.k.a. “The World’s Toughest Row”) at 2.40 am on 17 February after a gruelling 66 days, 17 hours and 39 minutes. Read more…

• Nidhi Madhani is studying PPE at Univ. She was previously President of the Oxford PPE Society and Co-Chair of the Oxford University Labour Club. In this profile, she discusses student politics, the Chalet des Anglais, and her favourite final-year PPE modules. Read more…
• Dylan Dissanayake completed his undergraduate Biochemistry degree at Univ and is currently reading for a DPhil in Computational Discovery at Green Templeton College, Oxford. While at Univ, he rowed for University College Boat Club (UCBC) for four years and was a member of the First Eight. He is in the Oxford University Boat Club (OUBC) squad for 2024 and has been selected for the Lightweight Blue Boat. He raced Cambridge in the Lightweight Boat Race on Friday 29 March. Read more…
