On Saturday, 4 February, Claire Ward (soprano) and colleagues gave a concert of Handel concert arias in the Chapel, attended by a small but rapt audience. Claire is one of this year’s City Music Foundation young artists and as such, had devised a delightful programme of some of Handel’s less well-known music for voice, written for his patrons during a stay in Rome. Claire last visited Univ in 2019 for one of the Martlet Ensemble’s Bach Cantata concerts, alongside the Chapel Choir, and we hope to see her here again soon.
