"I will always remain grateful to Univ for its consistent efforts to maximise its students’ experiences and hope that these opportunities can remain open to other students wishing to pursue their educational ambitions."

"Receiving a Bursary has made a huge difference to my time at Oxford. My finances are now much less of a concern. I would like to thank everyone who supports Univ."

Harry Pasek (2014, US History MSt)

Travel Scholarship Recipient

Harry attended The Crossley Heath School in Halifax and completed A Levels at Greenhead College in Huddersfield. Before arriving at Univ in 2014 he read History at University College London where he graduated on the Dean’s List. Whilst in London he was part of the comedy group UCL Graters, with whom he wrote and acted in Crab Salad, a play that was taken to the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival to critical acclaim. At Univ, Harry was an over-enthusiastic if under-skilled member of the College Basketball team. The focus of his academic research at Oxford was the relationship between the Black Power movement and Hip Hop. He received two travel scholarships from the College that allowed him to travel to the United States to conduct archival research for his Masters. The research he undertook in New York, in particular the access he obtained to the FBI’s files on the Black Panther Party, contributed greatly to the completion of his thesis.
